What will happen to daddy when I die...by Rufuz

Long thoughts Rufuz is having of late...

Will he survive the hardship?

Is his mind enough equipped?

I tell him where he hides his roach clip,

Maybe when I die it will be a round trip…

I don’t ever want to lose him,

Nor does he want to lose me,

Though I am an intelligent dog, this I know,

I realize that someday we both will be separated,

One of us will die

Either way the other will then die of a broken heart…

I must be getting’ older,

For my thoughts are starting to smolder,

I love the weather when it gets colder,

But only when daddy is here to play,

Outside with me in the snow,

Daddy gets all red and I just feel all aglow…

Hey, God, don’t let my daddy die,

I love him so much, you know that’s the reason why,

If I do go first then, please let daddy get another dog,

He needs companionship, someone he can sometimes with cry…

Awww this just choked me up and made tears stream down my cheeks. It is a difficult situation to think about because either way, the sadness is overwhelming.
Take care,

((((Rufuz))))

Let your legacy live on in pictures, in words your Daddy pens...and when Daddy feels the need, get another Rufuz. Not to replace you, that could never happen, but to have someone to talk to, to create a diversion, to express his grief and not internalize it and possibly harm himself.

Powerfully penned write--you made me cry.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Hopefully, that won't happen for a long, long, long time.

I agree with Jerry on the Rufuz 2
I could sketch you a picture
of old Ruf you can remember him by,
but I know you won't ever forget Ruf.
May you both live long,
and seems you two already get along..

So true, for so many of us, Rufuz - and I truly hope you and your Dad have very many more marvelous years together.
