A photo of the grave of singer Minnie Riperton (Lovin' You), at Pierce Bros. Westwood Memorial Park, in Los Angeles, California."

Lovin' you is more than just a dream come true
And everything that i do is out of lovin' you
La la la la la la la... do do do do do "..........

She had a beautiful expression of spirit

Which emanated through her vocal talents

Spreading love and joy in dazzling melodic strains

That touched the hardest of all hearts

Sprung from the wells of love

Of one who cared from her soul

She burst upon the scene

Like a meteor from heaven

Chicago born and bred

Living never came easy

She overcome all hurdles

And reached the summit peak

A voice as sweet as an angel

That rivalled a blackbird at dawn

Unique is the only word to describe her

Her comparison has never been born

Taken away at only thirty one

Her memory echoes down through time

Wonderful tribute to her, Peter; she was definitely one of the greats who seem to be taken from us far too soon. I grew up in the Windy City about the same time she did.

Great Tribute, Peter. I really liked Minnie Riperton. Just today, too I read where Lou Rawls is in the hospital with lung and brain cancer. We're losing a lot of our greats, Van Dross and Pryor. Hollywood and the music industry has its sad moments. It's nice that Jagger and Keith Richards and Rod Stewart, Simon, Garfunkel,
David Crosby, all over 60 still going strong, and Tina Turner, retired, over 60 and looking supreme!
