" A Solitary Heart is a Happy Heart ".....

Be true to yourself unequivocally

Depend on your own intuition at all times

Other people have their own hidden agendas

And in the final analysis you will be left adrift

So learn the art of following your heart

And give all control to God

Do not have reliance on anyone or anything

For sure grief and distress will follow

Independence and experience are great assets

They teach you to distinguish right from wrong

And contentment flows in its wake

Serenity and confidence rolled up in one

So never forget that you are on your own

Its a singular path that you must follow

Don't be misled by illusion and deceit

Meant to throw you off the right track

Cultivate the seeds of success

Forge ahead, never stopping to look back

Another good write. Trusting only yourself, doesn't mean you have to cut everyone else out of your life, it can just mean you rely(Sp?) on yourself first.

Excellent write, Peter. Incredible pic also! The message in this write is astounding. We can rely on no one but ourselves to get us through this world. In the end we all stand alone.

Trusting solely oneself is not the same as entire self-reliance or a lack of co-dependence; it speaks to me of being accountable only to oneself at the end of the day, living by the mistakes you have made and the successes you have wrought as products of your own involvement, founded in God. I like this strong poem of personal sovreignty, though, throughout all of life, we may seek to interact and exchange with others. TY Kate xx

always live life knowing you were born with both feet on the ground and with eyes that see everything that can be imagined and with a spirit that knows the words god reveals to our selves ... i guess, that's trusting yourself ...

I trust the rock paintings and early cave art. Because humankind's most powerful animal imagery suggests a deep felt relationship with the animal world. Good friendships come in earth pigments, the colors of ochre, yellow, red, violet, and black. Some of the rock paintings are depicted with wounds. Through rock paintings, I have learned to mark territorial boundaries and shapeshift, two qualities of intuition and to learn the art of following my heart. Peter, this is a powerful stretch of terrain that suggests we use our primitivism across vast track in the path of time.

Sad to say, but you've penned truth...the only true source we can lean on is God. We can't even trust ourselves...excellent write.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

In some ways, this is sad, Peter. I do find it full of wisdom, however. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and peace to you.

How very sadly true, especially these days it seems, Peter, and good advice for us all.
