a New Year
is almost here
so let's dabble
in time travel
remember with me
what used to be

born in 1949
a lifetime
ago
a lifetime to go
to know
&
to grow

hey,
here's my show ...

1954
kindergarten
an open door
that's for sure
don't remember much before

'56
first grade
had it made
Elvis the Pelvis
rock-n-roll
take a stroll
'57
7 goin' on 11
'58
ain't that great
James Dean
know what i mean?
'59
a panomime
'60
the 60's
The Sixty's
what can i say
hey
they came my way...
'61, '62
'63
Kennedy
Viet Nam
Johnson
War
mrs. Robinson
Jack
black jack
Nicholson
son of a gun
smokin' a toke
life was a joke
with no punch line
but it was mine...
'64 'till '68
life was great
All-American Boy
a Toy
my mom's pride & joy
'69
life was
because
i married
hippie
yippie
why?-yeah
drifted away
anyway...

'70, '71
what had i done?
'72 thur '79
my life was not mine
no fun!!!

a salesman
who sold my soul
a no man
with only a whole.
one which i stole.

then Love came my way.

a new day.
anyway.
blew that away...

after 18 years
too many tears
for her & me...
a love just not meant to be...
i guess?
as you might suggest.

life acceralated
or so i'm told
i'm old
and rated
on a scale of 1 to 10
could i begin again"

my last 5 years
tears
fears
arrears
nuthin' clears

except
memory lane
and pain
bein' insane

the lost & found
of being around
the sound...

of all my Truths
and all my lies
i have no alibies
but goodbyes
nice tries...

anyway
got this to say...

i was young
now i'm old
a song sung
a story told...

Thanks for sharing, you do it so well! You should teach a class on how to encapsulate;) Your bio though unique to you as lived ,is similar to myriads of others. We all have much in common. I hope you find the strength and peace to start anew in the new year, leaving the past where it belongs in the past. Merry Christmas Steve!
Love,
Eileen
