Sweet refinement
seeks the lady,
torn from all consoling.
Swept into his nightmare reeling,
stealing through her lover's pain.
Rage he lifts
and drops again ...
Rage he lifts
and drops again ...
Where this heart song
so long needed?
Answered she and tore his mind.
Answered she, "I was your cherished,
loved and coveted dear, sweet lie.
Don't you know, my heart,
you sought me!
Don't you know where once you left?
They have said we cannot marry,
for I am Rachel to Jacob, my rest."
