"Awaiting Love"

I picked up a shell from the sand
The shell that’s sending sizzling messages to my ear
The earth and the people has disappeared
All that’s left is my sweetheart and me
As the under water creatures buzz
Searching for a pulse in ebb and flow
Under the sun so very hot
I sit and listen and I wait
The earth so very dry
But I cry
By the fire of heartache and pain
Alone! I have cried my soul dry
Under the blue-blue sky
All day long on my own
My heart belongs to another
The earth cry along with me
For rain to come
To bring my love to me
All night my heart longed for you
For my lover to come to me in pouring rain
To take me far away from here
Oh! Listen to the whispering wind
It’s so gentle and kind

It embrace me tenderly
Singing its own love song to me
“Woman there with deep despair
“The time is near
“He is almost here
“The rain is falling down
“No need to fear my dear
“Listen to your beating heart
“It is still very much alive
“Your love may be far away
“But will take you away
“Very far away from here
“Till you wait no more

Beautiful painting - beautiful work!!

I believe I've heard it said that it is better to have loved and suffered than not to have known love at all - or something like that; English is not my first language. Sometimes I really wonder about that. Anyway, lovely thoughts about love, Tinkasweets. Love and peace to you.
