What is love? When I was still a child I once wrote, "it was an emotion passing by, not something just seen with the eye"...........

What is love?

Is it just an emotion passing by?

Something we capture with in the glimpse of a eye?

Is it just the physical feelings we share with another?

I speak not of the feelings for a

No, I speak of that for a possible mate!

What is in all that, what does it take?

When are we SURE it is real

not, something "fake"?

Not Something that will pass with the sunshine;

But something that will stand the test of time!

I thought I understood that concept once.

But a divorce later,

I had to Re-examine and Re-discover,

this emotion that at one time was

next to heaven.

When is forever, forever?

How long is till death do we part?

When do we say enough and part?

When that love is bad;

When it is ok to make a new start?

After how many broken promises and

broken hearts?

When is the time to reach out?

To end the endless lonely nights

To fill the gray void in the endless day

To take a chance

To say

To feel

For it to be real

To close the mind to past events

and trust they won't reappear.

When next I love I want to say;

I love you, and I trust our love will last,

Forever and a day, in a million ways,

again and again I will say

I Love you!

That is why I am not married, after we met on and going on 4 yrs. living with eachother, with his #3 children sleeping over wkends... No reason for marriage, but, you said it and I feel it... It's But something that will stand the test of time! Definitly! And... as I have always believed! It is better to have loved - then not to love at all... It's the exper.s that build our character and bring us experiences to feel deeply! YOur in my heart Tina, as you have always been! Many HuGs! *She*oxo

Excellent questions to which all answers seem inadequate in this era Tina! Our society is not conducive to marriage anymore. WE have too many hang-ups and free love has made the marriage bed unnecessary. Today it is more about lust than love. In fact people who say they are in love, most times mean they are in lust. So I feel for you , but really have no answers. It takes two to make it work and it just isn't happening in this culture,.

Forever is a looooong time and most can't handle it. Nor have they been tought commitment and self-repsonsibility. We've become a disposable society along with everything else. And, many people think a relationship will fix everything. If one isn't "right" with themselves, no relationship will ever help.

Good thoughts and structure in this work. I enjoyed reading.

With over half the married couples already divorced many people are asking the same question with varied answers. I am sorry for your plight.
