what do i have to do?
dance naked under flood-colored skies
that tease us with empty promises
but shunt the moisture farther east
(where they don't need it, mind you)
and fail to deliver the relief
needed in my own backyard?
bet that will get their attention.
of course, if i do that, there will be
a deluge of comments to spare you
the indignity and to put my clothes
back on ... and i'd hate to wind up
on the 11 o'clock news in my birthday
suit (not a pretty picture). it's just
the fact that it's been so ... dry.
never mind ... it was just a thought.
