Mirth and Dearth

Faraway azure
too blue to be certain
In a hazy pallor, life ends this way
and begins again
if you are disposed that way
and for some it is this miniature death
and rebirth
that ushers in the advent
of epiphany
of resolve

Faraway azure
too blue to be coincidence
Died a little more last night
I drank a large helping of morning
and I can't wash the bitter
taste of last year's gluttony
from my teeth

Faraway azure
too blue to care
theres the path
now walk it
and in the space of this moment
I will
