Everyone remembers a proposal. it is special and lasting. Poems are words that express feelings. I count a proposal as a poem from the heart. Even these words could not express true feelings for an important event such as a proposal.

I have been thinking lately that there are so many people who have married people that they can live with, or people that they love,
and even then do they truly love that person anyway?

I now realise that most people probably will never know true love, they don't know about it so they won't look for it,
and they settle with at best…. love.

True love to me is the way that YOU set all of my senses on fire every time I am around you, or thinking of you. The SMELL of your hair, The TOUCH of your skin, My SIGHT is amazed of your beauty within; The TASTE of your lips, and the SOUND of your voice.

You know my feelings about regrets, I don't have any about my life, but I wish it hadn't taken so long for me to meet you... But, because of this wait, I am grateful to every person and event that has played a part in your life... everything that has made you the person you are... Beautiful... Strong and Kind, but now most of all, mine...

You engage me, challenge me, and effect me in a way that no one else ever has.
I love you, I love your smile... your face... the way you laugh... the way you cry.
I love the way your mind works... and the things you think about.
Your voice... comforts and soothes me when I need it.
I truly love you...

I used to think forever was such a long time, but now that I'm with you, forever just isn't long enough.

YOU make me who I want to be, you really do "complete me" and I really hope that you feel the same. I don't want these feelings to ever end...

Will you be my bride, my wife, my lover, my friend, my companion and most of all my soul mate.  I offer you myself,
my life and all that I ever will become,

Please Marry me.

What comes from the heart touches the heart ~ Don Sibet

What a gorgeous proposal, Juliet. I am sure you will have many people writing to you with requests to use your beautiful words in their own proposals.
Thank you for sharing this gem!

We must always know the vital difference between true love and infatuation
We should never ever give ourselves away completely to someone else, we should retain a crucial part of us that is both sovereign and integral
