Hard to quit anything good,
easy too lose a nice mood.
One day we can be fine,
next day out of mind.
Good should be kept around,
not dropped to the ground.

But quite a bit we're down,
a smile replaced with a frown.
The face seems the target,
then the heart and soul seem to mark it.
Look around you can see,
the frown that attacks you and me.

Joy is good to the soul,
so I try to keep it and don't fold.
Sometimes in comes the weep,
it makes joy hard to keep.
I'm sold,
it's worth hanging on to gold.
