This was written about twenty years ago when my daughter was just a babe of seven years or so who worried about her Dad being lonely because she could only visit on the weekends...Thank you Wanda, Love Dad

Little child you speak into my ear wise words beyond your tender years

I have to turn away my face, to force back them old tears

I used to tuck you in at night and in my arms you often fell asleep

It was I who'd kiss your hurting, when afraid you couldn't weep

Sometimes I used to make you laugh, priceless laughter to my heart

When growing pains discouraged you, all new I'd help you start

But now it' you who tells Daddy,  that my age is not that old

You who wipes my pain away when inside I grow cold

It's you who tells me "Daddy please don't give up on life"

Or "Daddy, you'll find someone who'll be a loving wife"

Oh little girl how much I love you with a special love each day

You are the one who never doubts me and in my heart you'll forever stay!

Oh Felix, the relationship between parent and child can be the most special thing in the world - or the most horrible. Congratuations on having that of the first kind, and for finding the words to share it with us.

Damn it Felix...this made me cry. Thnx for sharing big brother. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, maybe too stubborn for my own good, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your still very sad and very terrified little sister, Barbie

Well, here's me flooding all across your page as usual, Pops... you KNOW what this does to me Daddy-starved heart!!! But, conversely, I know what it is to be so nurtured by those little ones we have been blessed to have in our care... we can never outdo in our giving or in our loving of them... such words and moments are priceless - as is this GORGEOUS photo. Bless you both - and now you have the double-dessert of having precious Granddaughters to replicate the joy! Be happy and stay well... so glad the surgery went well and you are OBVIOUSLY on the mend... FAST!! Soar on those Angel wings and ENJOY all the care and attention... bet those Nurses gave you heaps of love and winks behind their surgical facemasks! ;)) LOL Kate xx
