                The Hidden Truth

The world is filled with people who
Tenaciously hold to the view
That "what you see" is what you get
And "what you hear" is better yet

That view is subject to rejection
When one encounters an exception
Example--I don't seem so bright
But I'm not worried, it's alright
My I.Q. scores are very high
We know "statistics", they don't lie!

Sometimes my answers don't reflect
What is in truth my intellect
So when my actions stupefy
The brilliant set, I say that I
Am just not functioning at my best
And let them figure out the rest
