I'm alright. REALLY. This just came out of nowhere. I'm soaring, flying on eagle's wings, since I just found out (while writing this poem) that both Karen and I have a brand new job--they just called and hired us! We will be working at Fire Mountain restaurant, a new buffet eatery opening next month in Burleson. :) WHOO-HOOOOOOOOOO!

THANK YOU for your prayers!

"Beware Of Who Your Friends Are."

The sea, in a benevolent mood,
snuggles close to the shores
of my sadness;
it envelopes me in wet embrace;
tastes my tears on its face,
and accepts me -
and when it has had its way with me,
it spits me, motioness,
onto the beach -
it wasn't the friend I thought it was.

It is indeed an attribute of Nature - as it is of human nature - to be unexpected, surprising, and sometimes even cruel in its revelations, dear friend. But with all this, both - or is it only One Nature, after all - are enriching in those revelations, for they mean that all are evolving, thus being given more choices and the wisdom to make them. A wonderful poem! All the best for your new job, that's awesome news! :0)

A SIZABLE metaphor in this write, Karla! When a poet can accomplish forwarding their audience a warning message or any growth message through the written word, it is well worth the read. I live for the metaphor! I am a collector of metaphors! Nature can offer us so many lessons and we are right in using analogy to convey emotions. I am the friend you thought I was, just want you to know that, Karla. Always with you.
