Nature...?

A hermitage in the forest is the refuge of the narrow-minded misanthrope; a hammock on the ocean is the asylum for the generous distressed. (Herman Melville)

Mistress

I love and respect my dearest Renee,

She nurtures my being, she is happy to play,

Around she has been since the beginnings of my day,

Around she will be till we both from this world decay…

But she has to for my mistress give way,

She realizes this, not far from her may I stray,

A life without my mistress would find me in disarray,

I try not to but am afraid, this is still for me an old cliché…

My ocean, only twelve miles of her,

Off a strip of land barely six blocks wide,

There is where I do to her convey,

My feelings, my thoughts, my pain, my dismay,

She has as well seen me go astray,

And when I was younger and less I did weigh…

Her silence as she laps the shore at my feet,

Her anger I have witnessed on those days she is gray,

She has warned me never to of her betray,

For her wrath is powerful and one I wish not to see her display…

hey Ed, sure we have cattle in Bmore, right across the street from my job there's a big farm, the owner of my company loves the country scene. Her home is right around the corner from the main office. We use to have about five buffalo on the farm. Remember not too long ago these buffalo were in the news in Baltimore. They escaped the farm. I think now they are buffalo burgers. After that the owner got rid of them. Everyday I went to work I watched them grow and multiply. Kind of miss watching them. Anyway, the farmer got all type exotic animals. I saw a llama, some weird looking sheep and there's this big burma bull. This guy got a helicopter also. Watch that mistress Ed, flesh or solid, just don't spoil it. nice poem

I'm sure Rene understands about your mistress, my friend. All you guys in Jersey have one, right? I think I saw that on the Sopranos.
