where love is eternal, no earthly bonds may hold...aml..k

She dons the lace of overlay
The gown of white, she’d packed away
Pulled from mothballs hiding place
Wipes her eyes and tearstained face

Draws the veil, now yellowed hue
A single orchid lays in view
Within the mirrored image shows
The lines that age gouged deep in rows

Her shaking fingers doff the band
Sixty years carved in her hand
With gentle care, retrieves its mate
And reads inscribed beside the date

“For my beloved, heart to heart”
And hers “Never broken, nor apart”
She lays them in the wooden chest
Where all her memories safely nest

A drop of moonlight strikes her glass
To meet her love, she’ll gladly pass
She drinks her wine with poisoned lips
To that ‘good night’ she softly slips

A beautiful 'structure' of an epic tale, Kristian! A
'chapter' in a/her life, depicting 'Our' life...

I feel comforted, and treasured, whimsically-victorianal, or such, if you know what I mean... :)

Slipping softly,

I remain,

In "A Drop Of Moonlight" poetic excellence abounds; an inspiring and profound story is told, and eternity energizes the dynamo of love.

"A Drop Of Moonlight" did teach me how true poemization of life flows, and what it takes to add value to Poetry.

I salute You, Poet!
