Her small racing heart
I fear it will continue
the paleness of cheek
she seems so weak.

Her shortness of breath
her brown lunch sacks
she now carries around
to help her catch her breath.

All of this puts me to the test
this child needs a rest
I will let her rest
she sleeps in peace for now.

Until the fears come from within
the demons attack
be careful
don't look back.

All my love is not enough?!
Mommy's comfort falls short
of this trial that is so rough
this trial I could abort.

Want to and then
but really
see no way to run out
gracefully without resentment and hate.

I could do it
take my word
my sons know how I am
I can be a tigress
for children
and frighten tall men
with my teeth so sharp
my words so cutting and deep.
Leaving scars
but I won't do it
because Jesus is in charge.

So then I think again,
"no, we will not give up"
to unseen monsters around
there IS peace to be found.

If he could just see her at home
if he would just watch her at school.
He watches many others
as he is tapping along with his cane
into rooms and hallways
he is always observing
and curving around
to watch over
and direct.

If he would just see her
he would know the fear
in this child so mild
he would finally care.

On the same page we would be
This new Master of us and me
to plan for her the best
and put the past to rest.

The Master and me
Praying softly and loudly
can't he hear
can't he see?

The Master I am trusting
this new Earthly master who I am entrusting
to watch over her
Is he seeing her heart
her gentle ways of being?

It would touch him and then
we could begin again
in the same book
design a plan.

This is his child, too
they all are in his care
entrusted to him by Jesus
does he remember where?

to begin again anew
cast away his pride
and see ahead
I long for his eyes to see mine full of tears.

Forty years
times how many children
equals wisdom and truth.
Jesus wants him to not stop now.

See the dew on her bud
See the thorns all around her
See the weeds that need to be removed
impeding her progress
slowing her down.

See the soul within
see the little child minister
to a smaller one who lost her Father
so suddenly.

Who could not see that?
The teachers do
no prize is wanted
for my child with her little Lily
so broken is she also for now.

Tender Lily so frail
her Daddy is gone
she clings to my child
because she is mild.

I know he watched them together and did he not see
that she is needed there
even more than he?

In God's love he could bend
and then she could mend
I love him
and hate him
and then again
I want to scream

but I wait and pray for God to soften his heart
please give my daughter a fresh start
In God's love he could bend
and then she could mend.

I love him and hate him
I have to tell the truth
he is a mystery to me
this lord upon the Earth
the Master of her fate
the Master of mine,too
And now sweet Lily is here.

He is the Master for now
God's will be done
not mine, not his, not even hers
God's will
will be done.

This chapter will end
If he hears....
will he listen and see
all the beauty she has?

our new book will be written
not by tears, fears
but by cheers
the praise will amaze
and God will smile at His work
obeyed and done well.

Dear Jesus
I pray
take him away
to her world
so he can see
what he is doing
what he can undo.

I trust only you
I let it all go to you
to see the Work you will do
in the Master, my daughter and me.
And now for sweet Lily
who clings to the hope
of her Father returning
to Earth
and to play but cannot now.

She has only the comfort at school
my daughter is part of God's plan
carefully designed by Him
to heal slowly this Lily
His child, too.

But will this new Master
even grasp all of this?
It's not for me to say
I can only write and pray.

Intense write and like a mother beer who's cubs are in danger, you can and will be dangerous until the threat is resolved.

Most parents are indeed tigers/tigresses for their children. YOu've captured some heartwrenching insights with this work. Well done.
