The future is bleak, the present even more so
Where do I turn for answers?
There is none that I can provide
Nothing I can do to help
I am desolate with grief
By being the one setting the boundaries
Setting the parameters of my life
Perhaps the future may begin to glow with hope.
Today I set the limits that are set in cement
Today I will act like the bitch
That I am not inside
To save him, to save me!
To save the future!
God help me in this decision!
Comment, regarding this and the piece called Crack written 2/6/06! Today I practice the Alanon creed of detachment, and let go and let God! As we all know in Alanon, the slogan the 3 C’s tell the tale, I didn’t cause it, I can’t control it and I can’t cure it!

|You have a heart of gold. Most would run for the hills.
Yet you gotta have outside support network, just to keep your sanity..
OOO, was there not a Betty, Carter or Ford clinic thingy to help?
Stay strong and grounded. One can only be of help, if one keeps oneself in tip top condition first and foremost...

|I can relate- my brother started drinking beer and smoking pot when I was 10, then he moved on to acid, then coke, then crack- and my life was utter hell dealing with it from that point on- but at least he has been clean now for 12 years, not without ups and downs, but the best way with most things in life is exactly what you said, Let go and let God, we did, and thank God, we were blessed with the "crack monster" as I called my brother then, disappearing. God Bless you and keep praying, especially on those nights when you are wide awake and wondering if you will get that call we all dread as families of addicts.|
