For your birthday, I wanted to get you something dark, rich and delicious. Couldn't find a man to fill the bill, so will chocolates do? :)

Happy Birthday, Nordette. :) I love you.

or the stars glittering
your poetry
'cross the ebon sky
or the lightning
illuminating your words
in gold -
I have a question:
how do you capture greatness?

very rich words...they envelope the reader --- smothering s/he with moving beauty. (I had a birthday on feb. 8th myself...quite the elcectic bunch of Aquarians, are we)

Karla, you have no idea how much this touches me and what a surprise it was to find out you'd written it. :-) You are a great poet yourself. I kept wondering how it was that people were wishing me Happy Birthday and I hadn't mentioned it this year. Then I discovered Aberjhani's birthday story/poem and your poem and knew I had two angels looking after me. :-) Thank you again.

Run faster than she does, I think!!!!!!! WOT??? Nordette's BIRTHDAY??!!! I long to toast the Queen in her presence sometime this year, so that champagne is gonna have a bit of a long wait on-ice somewhere... never mind; at least it will be good vintage by the time I get there. THANK YOU KARLA for not letting this red-letter day pass unnoted and may both she and you be blessed with yet MORE stupendous power to your pens to dazzle us all with in the coming days, weeks and years.... Just write it across the sky... "You can't catch me!!" Gotta love it. Dark, rich and delicious???
