LIVING ON THE BRINK

There’s a newly built ice-rink on the edge of town;
fancy skating over my face
while I do a figure eight in your heart?
Circles within circles, moving to a rhythm,
your long legs will unravel as we dance to a bolero.
Slinky foot-work, depend upon it:
if I fall on my ass
you’ll kill yourself laughing.

Lead me to the cabin, then!
Unknot my intricate life,
Let me breathe eucalyptus oil
and rub shoulders
with a visible female form!

Dancing to the Bolero, as if I can't let go of the crash boards.

Sure has that warm winter feel.

Nowt comes better than the femanimal form...

Who wouldn't want to skate face with Oksana or Katarina Witt!!!! I have eucalyptus oil in my diffuser now for the winter months. So soothing and 'knotty.' And Ravel's Bolero playing on my antiquated turntable. The stylus grooves! Over and Over again. 33 1/3 Revolutions Per Minute...Triple axle...crowd pleaser! Challenging write, Kenny. Where your thoughts must be right now!

... How could I forget, McDuff??!! You indulging in a spot of nostalgia here, of frozen ponds on a Devonshire farm in November 2003 - REALLY that long ago?? Or the following New Year's trip to Okkie... this, you KNOW, strikes chords with me as this was my nascence into writing, and you the midwife... well, well... you're probably just musing on the Winter Olympics in Torino, but this takes me back to my first ever poetry scrapbook... gotta make that call!! :)) Still as sharp and edgy as Torvill and Dean's Bolero... You know I love it! LOL Kate xx
