Behind the lines

Behind the lines
in clever disguise,
lies evil
but we ignore all the signs.
We compromise our love
for the lies,
we exercise in faith.
Behind the lines
lies hate,
telling us that conscience can wait.
We sacrifice the good
we could feel inside,
to gain our desires,
born of the greed that hate inspires.
Behind the lines
pain and sorrow hide,
they lay and wait
for our hope to subside,
they strike us
when our hearts
find out how we've lied,
Behind the lines.

Yes. So often this is the state of relationships and human conditions. Thank you. Love and peace,
