Express yourself to show your new eve.

Faith or Fear

© 2006 Mary Lynn Plaisance

Do you say what you say from the faith you hold inside?
Or is it from fear of what others would say about you on the outside?
Do your words come from the depths of your soul?
Or from a book that someone told you to use because it was old?

Do you follow that group because others say it’s the only way to go?
Or do you feel you have your own way inside which you would like to show?
Do you say to others you have faith in your heart?
Or is what you feel total fear if you don’t do what others say from the start?

You do know you’re the one who has to live by the truths of your own belief.
So, express yourself to show your new eve.
Spill your words, and say what’s on your mind.
(Full of faith and not fear)
‘Cause we must leave our own words for all of mankind.

When I have faith then my fears are taken away. This is a good write, even though I just got to it now, it meant lots to me and made me think about myself again and know blessings are coming my way too before long. Nice write.

Beautiful picture and poem, Mary! You have raised some good questions.

Does one believe in one's faith because out of fears? or does one believe in one's faith because of the faith itself?

I can speak for myself only:

I believe in God because
He answers my prayers;

I believe in God because
He has earned my trust in Him.

It was NEVER from fears.

Sha Bebe,

You pen a thought provoking write here; well you teach a powerful lesson, one that I need. I very often, especially when a bad storm is blowing out there, freak out, being a stormphobic, when I need to trust the One who MADE the storm, the very storms that have inspired my writing! Thank you. Saving this one.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
