L O L A ...Lola
A lot of woman

Polish the
banister rail
leave your trail

Cinnamon stick
tea room railblazer!

Gossip doesn't phase her
Lola will just look at you
and go ... GRRRR

She's the first menu in
town that isn't slathered
with traditional gravy

She's marketable enough
to have real options

Lola doles out hospitality
at LOLA's ... L O L A
her gift shop/antique store/
old-fashioned ice cream parlor

One of main street's more
productive gossip pits

For refreshment there is
a cooler of Walter's Beer*
and cherry cola

60,000 Hits of LOLA ...
L O L A ... LOLA!

*Walter's Beer is long gone,
but the taste lingers.  My
parents owned the country
General store in my hometown
(where I still live) in the early
1970s, and when I turned 18 in
1977, the drinking age then, I
kept those beer shelves polished,
learned from an early girlhood,
work was also fun!  And my
favorite saying when we have to
dig into chores and get them done.
"Don't have a wishbone where
our backbone should be."

Hospitality Lola-style sounds thoroughly warming, Sage, and just like it is THE place to be. Amazing, init, how certain places are just "it", and I have come across a couple that sound a bit like LOLAS... BOTH dependent on the charisma of the proprietor who make you feel like it is a privilege to step across their threshhold and be treated as friends... business doesn't come into it!! And that's how it feels in your Den, Darlin. The hearth is always burnin brightly and there's always WELCOME on the mat! You sure is de Hostess wiv de Mostess... and reckon Ray Davies and the Kinks would like this one... with or without the Waterloo Sunset (which, BTW, is usually divine...'cept not on a Septic Sunday!! :)) Here's to your next 60,000 Big Ones. LOL Kate xx
