The silence that is about protection
To hide behind the shell of black
Reserving feelings for times alone
Behind the veil of silence

A lonely way to live and yet
A feeling being in self-safe port
A life spent living in the shadow
Rarely seen in light of day

Hiding well ‘neath opaque fabric
Quietly shielding self and ego
Exploring life with but her eyes
Revealing nothing that makes her special

But, watch those eyes both wise and seeking
She reveals such wonder in their depths
And all is stored for contemplation
Behind a veil of silence

Interesting write here. I can't imagine how women can live like that -- and like it. Sadly, I know one who claims she does. Very odd.

Anyway, good job on this one.

a most revealing creative analysis of the psychological affect of living within a veil of culture and tradition ..

I can't imagine any woman hating herself so much.
YOu have really written a wonderfully emotionally revealing work.
I salute you.
