Butterflies in the winter sun

A thousand miniature butterflies in the winter sun

outside my window

stops me in my tracks

I put everything aside and retreat to an island paradise

basking in the sun

which is so bright I have to shield my eyes from it

a sharp beam of light shining into my brain

concentrating my thoughts

so that maybe I will be able to finish at least one of my projects

just maybe, Iíll see something, anything through

rather than be one of those bright  butterflies

in the winter sun

unless I fall asleep first

with the heat of the sun pressing on my ear and on my cheek

on some tropical beach

with the winter butterflies fluttering all around me

Natural poemization of a romantic-ecological moment.

I have enjoyed the reading of "Butterflies in the winter sun".

Keep posting, Poet!

I think of the butterflies as snowflakes, Janet; or vice versa. Believe it or not, I saw some furry caterpillars in January here, and that is not something I've seen before. Thank you for sharing this delightful poem. Love and peace to you,

This is very easy on the eye, and very easy on the soul
Delightful write Janet
It would be heaven to be on one of those island paradises in the depth of a British winter !
