sometimes…it rains a lot
and the sky is overcast
moss grows in mass
upon the sleeping trees
trunks water laden
of deeper colors
like cedar, oak, and aspen

I sigh…to the intensity of
incredible beauty…

listening to the crow calling to its mate
over the heads of black tail dear
nibbling upon emerging bulbs
of hyacinth and daffodils
under the dormant wisteria
hanging over the gate
envisioning its majesty
in the warmer days of spring

a dog barks

the solar fire burns

blast…. it surges
hot and coiled
a tongue of flame
lashes out

sting and burn
across the cheek
and felt within
the heart

on ones knees
internal tremble
biting back
the pain

duck and cover
shields on high
lest it
flame again

and all the while
green grass grows
green…we know
a color alive
healing, healthy, whole
inspired, encouraged good for life
confident, expressive, soul

I sigh…to the contemplation
of perception

because sometimes…it rains a lot
and the sky is overcast
so wisdom waits and
thoughts are grey
feeling the shift in elements
traveling across the universe

….distributing energy…

This one just puts me in a mood of being so grateful that nature is constantly renewing, distributing energy even on our grayest days. Debby, you know it well and say it so well here. The only way to shed those old shackles and wipe clean those unhealed scars is to put oneself in touch with nature and know what it means, learn and heal from it. You distribute your own energy here in the den and we appreciate your inspiring words.
