The Teddy Bears

In the arms of others
without her brothers
she cuddles there
and pretends snuggling deep within
that each one is a shelter from the storm.

Her own Teddy Bear
to care for
to play with and groom
alone in a loving room
she plays with each one.

Her fantasies are complete
these Daddies that she meets
along the way
to play
they listen;
pray
they listen
and hear the little girl's heart
and keep her safe
apart
from others
who do not care.

Beware
for there are people out there
who wait to snatch
such purity away
so the child cannot play.

The innocence of her giving ways,
her gentle touch
she loves so much
has filled many a grownup Teddy Bears'
days

I watch and see
what they mean to her
Each one she pretends
she knows there is an end
but she makes not a cry
she knows why
they are here.

They may never know
the Daddies they were
but the love that they gave
helped a young girl grow.

A profound message rings the bells for a caring society. Wise lines
of poetic beauty in "The Teddy Bears" make this a Flower from the Poet's heart.

I salute You, Poet!

I agree with Felix's comments. Wonderful write and also a stern message about perverts that walk the streets or drive cars and snatch and kill these hapless children.

Sweet and sensitive write that makes the reader want to reach out and envelop this child in a huge bear-hug of love.
