Winter, linger on
the sky's a cold gray glow
the snowflakes fall like carnival
the fields covered with snow

Winter, linger on
and I'll get out my sled
please tell spring to wait awhile
and put the tulips back to bed

Winter, linger on
I'll promise to remember
the way I felt on that first snow
that fell in late December

Nice lines. I too hope winter lingers.

Forgive me if I don't share your wish for winter to 'linger on', still a nice poem.
