 Bird in the Pad
Have you ever gone out as night is falling
and had a wisp of a breeze pin you down
and inject something into you
makes you come within an nth
of following it to its pad. . .however
far out. . .to lie under black lights
on a mattress half-cloud, half-star,
knowing, just knowing
another breeze will slip in
to help you out before the shot
wears off. . .then another, and
another?   Duuuuuuuuude,
where have you been all my life?
No tick, no tock, only the sssss of
a hummingbird sipping. . .what?
. . .but you caught yourself in time?
Slapped yourself awake,  brushed
the breeze aside and went in,
set your alarm, crawled in a bed
bore your shape?  Smelled of bought
scent?  Nothing screamed
summer.  Like that.
. . .woke of course to a day like the day
before,  After.   When you are blue,
do you ever feel the breeze tiptoe
up and tug at your sleeve?  Needle slip
in without  trouble?   Dream
you went for real?  Picture going
back and finding photos of you
but not.   Don't smile
like that.  No poster
neons Chill or Peace
in our Time.

Impressive navigation through the mysteries of the mind. This poem brings many points to be studied. "Bird in the Pad" has given its dues to Poetry.

Ahh... I could read this one a trillion times. As Aberjhani said: it is seducing! Love ya, Pea!

"Wings" most truly. The language sweetly seduces and the passion blissfully dazzles. Therefore this reader is properly awed by the wonder and grateful for the splendor of a poem called BIRD IN THE PAD.

"First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is..." Donovan. LOL.. What a trip this poem is, Pea. I have been there, though I doubt if I was really asleep.
Take care,

Well this is the psychedelic sunshine of the soul! Tripping out on my blacklight and strobe. It is my belief we cannot deal with the most important things unless we understand the most amusing. Such internal thoughts here, Pea. Probably the most times we remember are those which we were spontaneously alive, doing whatever we wanted, anticipating the mysterious. How about a neon ping-pong match with Bird in the Pad, Pea?

Uplifting, soaring writing here; the opening was absolutely beautiful, as is the rest of this brilliant poem! BRAVA!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
