Seems a theme,

Of the worlds butt,

We will all get to ream,

Will we die with a resultant scream…?

Nuclear winter,

Summer burning skin,

Diets we all will not need,

No food & sickness will make us thin…

Better to be one of the first,

Before thousands of sky bursts,

Walk we will with an errant thirst,

No more water, dried up or contaminated,

Better we all could be to be laminated…

Ed - You write very well, and compose strong words, of imagined and feared events, not scheduled for the years ahead. There are some widl ones on this old, but not tired planet, but atomic bombs are too expensive to be dropped around like nasty notes for those we don't like. C'mon, I was alive when the first two were dropped, for damn good cause, but I'm not as pessimistic as you younger ones, about world leaders being able to keep the lid on. I'm like the church member, who, when challenged along with the others of the congregation, did NOT stand when the pastor asked for all who wanted to get to heaven, "please stand." The wiser one answered the preacher when asked if he didn't want to go to heaven, replied, "I
shurely do, but I don't seem to be in as big a hurry as the rest of thesee folks." We're alive, and that's a good reason to be excited about staying alive! - Bill

Even when laminated we would be creamed...liquid.Not good to drink and we'd just plain old stink.
But, then again...who'd be around to notice?

I'm awake with this poem Ed.

Better to be one of the first,

If it's on the way, I agree; why linger around in agony. And if it is on the way, we probably should enjoy ourselves - right now. And I have to think about that lamination part.
