A poem in memory of Dana Reeve, a woman who showed the world that she was a champion of courage and a beacon of hope for change.

A gallant overtaking
But one you held in grace,
A fight, long and painstaking
The battle you embraced
A pillar of such courage
An angel without wings
You were never discouraged
By the hardships life could bring.

You rose to bring awareness
When mere words were not enough
You paved the way in fairness
Even when the roads were tough
You saw need for improvement
And in love, you took a stand
That shall be a lasting movement
As we harbor your command.

We shall carry on your mission
And together, we will fight
With strong will and composition
For the cause you brought to light
Your memory shall form a beacon
In the lives that you have blessed –
A lasting flame to never weaken
For a champion at rest.

This woman was the most courgeous woman of my years. Her warmth, talent, charm and compassion gave us all a part of the way the heart works. Her dedication was phenomenol and she never gave up hope. Her faith was unshakable when others would fold at the trauma.
She is a lesson in humanity, bravery and strength and she left immortal footprints for all of us to follow. She is a hero.We can never have enough of them.

You help to remind us that life can be rough even to those with noteriety and riches and that to use the position in the public eye to support research and carry on.

My admiration is noted for her...and your poem.

Jill,

A shining, gentle tribute to a woman of grace and courage. Like I just told Michelle, Clark Kent's Lois Lane has rejoined him, at his side, in Heaven.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

She did fight the fight, it is just amazing that she died of lung cancer and never snoked in her life. That makes it even more tragic.
