Shamrock > Clover

Today, I bought a lucky shamrock

or so I thought

until I got to the checkout

where the clerk told me it was a sell out

not a real shamrock, but a four-leaf clover

the real thing has never come over

from the fair isle of Erin

and all the while, that plant had us stariní

four leaf clovers bring luck too, Iíd say

canít you remember how in childhood they were fey?

although my clover did not come over from the fair green isle

I have now had it quite a while

but it has brought me only bad luck

and that really sucks.

<grin> That was a fun read, Janet! Hope it was fun to write, too. Well done!

Peace.

LOL. I could hear a brogue as I read it. Despite the sourness of the last lines, I still enjoyed the read.

Top 'o' The Marn te ye...
It's the time for clover and the four leaf one is golden. I recall sitting for hours in patches of clover seaching for the elusive four leaf clover. It occupied the beter part of a day.

Rememebering this is like a dream with the sunshine squinting my eyes and popping out with freckles the longer I stayed involved in the clover.

Thank you for this nostalgic moment.
