A good memory from childhood; living in the country when many roads were unpaved.

Carefree were the days when we would load up in the old farm truck
And go to the little country church in the pines;
The moon would be shining so bright
The night perfumed with fresh night breezes and honeysuckle vines.

People came from miles around
On cars, trucks, horses and buggies;
So many the church could not hold them all.
They stood outside the windows to listen
So reverantly, their hearts filled with love.

The music could make the rafters ring;
The choir voices blended in a Heavenly sound;
Quartets, duets and solos all had a round.
They all held a message of God's amazing grace....
About a peace and joy in a faraway place.

A God....."that so loved the world
That He gave His only Son....
That whomsoever beliveth on Him
Would have everlasting life..."
To live with Him throughout all Eternity....In a home on a beautiful faraway stand.

Now, much time has come and gone
So many of our loved ones have gone on
To that beautiful Lland so grand.
Their troubles and trials on eart are done.
There's going to be a great reunion day soon;
The Saviour whom so loves us
And so mercifully forgives us our sins
Will open His arms and welcome us in !

Sure, it was great until we got to this point:

What are you doing in my house?
Don't you know they make traps for the mouse?
I saw Uncle David kill one of you -
merciless, unmerciful, not giving too.
Yeah it was warm before you were found out.
Now I'll be rude so you'll know to move out.
Run for your life little spying non-friend,
or you'll be the slaughtered lamb for sure
in the end.
