Counterfeit Hearts

You have to read it to understand, but it is a song.

A thousand different stories

But so many are the same

Tales of Grief and Sorrow

Of never ending Pain

A gentle reminder

To the faint of heart

Don’t close your eyes anymore

Open up and face the dark

Cause it’s brighter than it seems

Your counterfeit heart is screaming

For me to let you in

But my eyes have seen it

And I’m not falling again

It’s hard to break away

From these chains you’ve tied so tight

But your very soul is gleaming

With the blackness of your heart

The fire burning in your heart

Screams to be put out

Cause it’s spreading even faster

Now it’s burning In your kiss

You’re the perfect disaster

And I’m a catastrophe in the making

We have so much in common

This pain inside our hearts

Those hearts that are beating ever faster

Your kisses are my poison

This death I’m so enjoying

Your counterfeit heart is screaming

For me to let you in

But my eyes have seen it

And I’m not falling again

It’s hard to break away

From these chains you’ve tied so tight

But your very soul is gleaming

With the will to change

So break away from your self restriction

Let’s begin again

When you look at your reflection

Do you see what I see in you?

Somewhere inside your soul

The hero who’s heart bleeds blue?

I know you’re in there somewhere

Just dying to get out

Those eyes I’m clearly seeing

The ones that seem so true

I know somewhere inside

Is the guy that I once loved too.

Your counterfeit heart is screaming

For me to let you in

But my eyes have seen it

And I’m not falling again

It’s hard to break away

From these chains you’ve tied so tight

But your very soul is gleaming

With the will to change

So break away from this self restriction

So we can begin

Break Away from this torment that’s keeping you inside

Stay True to what you believe

This monster you’re pretending to be

Isn’t the boy I want for me

I know you’ll love me always

But define your definition

This heart of mine is breaking slowly

But you could heal me rather quickly

Just open my heart

And let yourself in

I’ll find a way for our lives to begin

Your counterfeit heart is screaming

For me to let you in

But my eyes have seen it

And I’m not falling again

It’s hard to break away

From these chains you’ve tied so tight

But your very soul is gleaming

With the will to change

So break free from your self restriction

And tell me you love me again

Tell me you love me again

Just say you’ll love me again
