I remember
Feeling rebuffed,
Surprise faced countenance.

(are you You…?)

I remember
Feeling very naked,
Supine, even as I wasn’t.

(do I behave correctly…?)

I remember
Feeling ashamed,
Senselessness was what I knew.

(forgive me, father…)

I remember
Feeling a finger
Smooth an errant eyebrow loosely.

(does that make me real…?)

I remember
Feeling a wonder
Such was happening at all.

(to all, through me, et al…?)

I remember
Feeling out-of-place,
Scared I might screw up humanity’s Race.

(i don’t want to remember…)

I remember
Stick figures in cartoon beds,
Stranded, by voiceless emptiness.

(i don’t know where to go…)

I remember
Feeling rabid-blind,
Superimposed my other-eye…

(i can’t see…)

I remember dying, in a dream…

This poem captures the half-light between dream and reality very well. I enjoyed reading it.

emotional and intellectual detachment manifests in this dream ... there is a marked contrast from visual surroundings through outline and texture ...

A tight, claustrophobic feel to these excellent words, very well done, Erin!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
