“I’m dying...”, That’s what she said.
It isn’t cheerful.
It isn’t polite.
Death is what it is, and nothing more.

No pocket full of posies upon which to rest her head.
There’s no ceremony.
There are no tears.
She wouldn’t have allowed it.

“Let me be.
Let me lie...”
That was all they could do.
She knew what was coming for her.
And she waited gracefully for it.

No time to mourn.
No time to apologize.
It just wasn’t her way.

“Death is what it is Love, and it will never change.”

god, yes, this is haunting, it gave me chills, and it...oh, painfully beautiful, though...it makes me think/wonder and...oh, simply, yes, haunting and yet, there is a courage and...I don't know...so well written, thank you, Mariah,

Some reality imbedded within this poem of something that we really had rather "beautify up" and talk all the gobbledygook. Death is the only true act that we have to deal with alone.
