A poem about how long and hard I fought to get to where I am. And my pride about living in one of the queerest places in the United States of America!
I love it every day in MONTROSE, TEXAS, USA!

Having Enough

Fame does not entice me

It has never been my goal

The price too high to just let others

Rob me of my soul

Donít want to marry wealthy

As I know that it is true

That something doesnít come for nothing

Even when you say, ďI doĒ

Didnít care for ambitious roles

To earn tons of money for myself

And have pressure on me daily

To rob me of my health

The things in life I treasure

Have come from other sources

Excitement, passion, and pleasure

Have been my driving forces

My life and all itís held

Has had moments that were cruel

But for the most part what Iíve gotten

Is worth more than the most precious jewel

Iíve found love and ecstacy with more women

Than I can count on all of my fingers

And any time I free my mind

Fiery memories still linger

I have experienced great adventures

That will never be revealed

To commit the perfect crime

Requires that lips stay forever sealed

My key to happiness is carved

From a slightly different mold

And I plan to carry on like this

Until I just get too old

It took a lifetime to get here

To the place of artists with whom I belong

Iím among a rowdy fellowship

Loving music, art, poetry, whiskey, women and song

I paid a high price to get here,

But thereís no place I would rather be

Than here in Montrose, Texas

With my queer family!

My Secret Obsession

Great poem Blue I love it and it sums up the way a lot of us feel and especially the artists in us. On the verge of my third book being released and I am still driving a rusted old jeep, still wearing my jeans with holes (not style just worn, lol) and still like to drink my beer out of a bottle, and funny thing I like girls too.Anyway your town sounds like a fun place and you have a great attitude, love your work.

Good for you!! So many people seem not to know what they
want. Who they are! But you have found yourself and
a place where you can be you. Not only that, but you
are able to express your thoughts and feelings clearly and openly. What a nice tribute you have written. I am so glad that people
in Montrose have made you feel at home. Pick a bluebell for me. 'Pea' <3
