Majestic mountains

 In the morning mist

Tall pines reaching

For heavens kiss

Wildflowers rampant

In colorful schemes

Past wondrous streams

Of winding dreams

In my mind this

Glorious scene unfolds

To uplift and delight me

When I'm laid low

It is times like these

 I ponder the grace of

A Creator who provided

Us a way to trace

Memories we keep

Of our joyous times

When events allowed

 Us to see in rhymes

What if we could see

 No more than the moment

With no recall, so different

 Would our days be spent

I'll gladly suffer the bad ones

If I know that I can view

Highlights of the happiest ones

I've lived my whole life through

Our memories do sustain us, Eileen. May your memories be a constant source of joy. Soft, dreamy beauty...

Memory is a precious thing and it must be totally agonising, alienating and disconcerting to be without it. How would we fix who we are at all or the purpose of being here? Indeed, it would seem that it is the past and future that make sense of the now. A fresh look at cherishing the moment and an angle I've not thought much about before. The initial portrait and pic remind me of Maria Von Trapp... "The hills are alive... with the sound of music!". Good job SHE could remember a few of her favourite things!! :)) LOL K xx

Eileen,
We truly are blessed when we can look back and remember with a passive heart the beauty within our memories. Sometimes just a touch from a friend, can ease the soul and allow us to relive that tender moment.
Beautiful work done with a beautiful heart.

The mood of the day seems to be reflection, Eileen and this poem is beautiful and reminds us how fortunate we are to have lived so many wonderful days that can cast a few rays of sunshine upon the cloudy moments of our lives.
Take care,
