Indian saddle blanket,
drinking steer horn,
pale olive chaparall,
Shilo Shane bathes
in the creek in the
roots of purple sage
let go on the clay bank,
spills wisdom in her creek
bathwater, outlaw daughter.
Duster of soft-focus gold,
chaps oiled to buttery brown,
Rodeo in town.
Rider of the Queer Purple Sage,
Shilo Shane's the rage,
comes from Rosita Canyon,
alternative Western outback.
Spectators watch Shilo Shane
break out, unimpose old habits
of Rodeo, Rider of the Queer
Purple Sage, gay rodeo catches
mane, dramatized sponsorship,
gay marketing across the land.
Shilo Shane, candidate for
Hall of Rodeo Fame,
must distinguish herself,
from spectators, Rider of
the Queer Purple Sage.

|Ride 'em Shilo Shane. Take the name gain. Hollar a queer cheer. Straddle that saddle. Shake loose your juice. Bare all, stand tall. Leave a stain, Shane.|

Hell, I'll nominate her. With a fantastic poem like this, she'll be a shoe in. :) Love it, great write!
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
I went to a gay rodeo once, many years ago. It was incredible, watching these women get on big ole bulls and busting broncos. Me, hell, no. LOL Too chicken!! They didn't back down from the challenge, and won my respect and admiration. Powerful women they are.
