My family has been at odds for a year now and son is caught in the middle. Even though we thought he was to young to remember he does. He still ask to see his Aunt Meme. This stupid feud was no fault of ours but he pays the price.

Today I stopped to recall those memories of yesterday

And time seems to be slipping away

A little boy to young to understand, or so we thought

misses the joy in his life you once brought

watching him play in your backyard, chasing his ball

Those are the found memories I recall

Sometimes it brings a tear to my eye to hear him say Harlin or Meme

For he doesn't understand how this came to be

He misses you and I do to

But we do what we must do

No matter the pain, no matter the hurt, we carry on

Keeping the memories alive and strong

Someday it'll work it's self out in that I have faith

I just hope it's soon before it's to late

After all the tragedy this family has already been through

You'd have thought they would've learned by now to quit acting like fools

But that doesn't seem to be the case

So we carry on in our on time and space

But what now one cares about is the 30 month old who does understand

Why he is no longer Aunt Meme's little man

It was not his fault or mine but he pays the cost

He deal with the loss

Even though the family is at odds, he suffers and everyone looks away

what will we tell him when he grews up someday

Memories I recall of yesterday

And the love that has been pushed away

I pray the good Lord reunites all involved, with His healing and His love. Sad, but well written.

This happens all too often and the littlest victims have no say except for people like you and my boyfriend, who is going through something similiar. God bless you and I pray that things get better for all involved.

Extremely sad situation and yes it is the children that always pay. Thank you for the sharing.
