Hi all,

Am home for the weekend finishing up some packing and painting, but wanted to pop in and share this new write with you and yours. Wishing you "Happy Easter" filled with memories, sunshine, and laughter.

Hugs, Trish

Droplets of rain putter patter on the old stone roof
And gloom is reflected in the lack of bright sunshine
Yet the grass grows greener under the horse’s hoof
As adults and children gather…all families combine.

Easter, a special time that comes, but once a year
Filled with families sharing a quality cooked meal
And children’s shout and laughter, a sound to hear
As they gobble up chocolate and candy…oh, so real.

Quiet chatter about special events, long in the past,
As young romance blooms in a room, just next door,
While the couple exchange kisses that last and last,
Until grandpa arrives, tapping his cane on the floor.

Cards and sports in the family room down the hall,
Shouts, roughhousing, glee, the home team scores,
While in the kitchen, recipes and secrets they recall,
Of men and romances with innuendos and metaphors.

Easter, a time for families to come together and care,
And building lasting memories for the future to share.

Trish,

Unless you live in the States, where families go out to eat...LOL We will be b u s y at the restaurant!

A poignant reminder of times past, when, on holidays, families gathered AT HOME...beautifully penned. Sigh...I miss those days.

May you have a blessed Easter.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
