We are promised things
we can not comprehend
We are promised things
that we will never see til the end

I asked a man once
what happens in the end
He said it will all be erased
I said why the hell are we living it then

Why would I want to live
and struggle everyday
Why do we go through such hell
if it won't even be here in someway

I mean if these aren't memories
or plans to be had
Why do we go through it all
the good and the bad

If we are only here
to one day be cleansed of pain
What the hell are we struggling for
if in the light we'll never feel the rain

I want some of this gone
and I would do anything for that
but I have to say this
without it I wouldn't be where I'm at

I guess what I am saying
or trying to explain to you
is I don't want it all gone
I dont want something totally new

I don't like where I am
but I dont want to be perfect
I want to be happy
and that's all I want and yet

People say one day
the world will be ideal
but it won't be to me
it won't seem to be real

I am supposed to want this
and pray for such things
and wait here patiently
eager for what my faith will bring

I have lots of questions
but I understand what I've read
You can't answer my questions
so I've prayed for them instead

But they don't come easy
and they'll never come quick
sometimes they won't come at all
and I feel like it's all been a trick

I didn't give up
I didn't say I don't believe
but I can't hold to my heart
a man I've only seen leave

Not saying He was never here
but that He hasn't yet stayed
and if He has or is is here right now
why is it in my heart He continues to fade

I used to pray daily
and read from The Book
and I believed in it so much
til it all, my pain took

I never said it was His fault
nor blamed rarely any man
but i know it's not all my fault
that I am the way I am

So back to our promises
and this paradies yet to be seen
Can any of you prove this
explain what it all means

I know the basic outline
or truths that are told
but I want to feel it
and have it inside me unfold

To know something is great
but to feel is something I need
knowledge is power
no, it's just the seed

To know the truth is one thing
but to grow with it inside me
to nurture this seed with feeling
is something I have to do can't you see

If I could feel His glory
If I could see the light
I would believe it
and know it'd be alright

On the surface it will be
I know this much is true
Everything will be alright
the same for me as it is for you

But I would like to feel
that glorious love you talk about
but why can't He show me
why must I go through hell
beg, plead, and shout

Don't you ever wonder
what you did to be misplaced
Don't you ever wonder
why your life seems defaced

Prove something to me
that you are really here
Say something to me
Cast upon me great fear

I want to believe in You
I want to be a part of the plan
but I want to remain me
not perfect, but better than I am

It's the same old rule
that so many live by
All or nothing
and I can understand why

But I am not just black
and I am not just white
and I dom't want it all
I just want to be alright

This is an amazing and honest prayer from a searching soul and so very honest and beautiful. He must and will answer you.

For me all the pain I have been thru is worth it too because it makes me the person I am today, weird or not I too would never change a thing. Who else would I be? You are alright , better than most is what i see.. Keep the faith and the answers will be there (IF YOU ARE MEANT TO HAVE THEM)

I've often wondered about all this. I was angry as hell once about life. I realised though after all the hell I did go through it was a hidden gift that made me deeply love and be compassionate towards all life. My pain was my crown that reflected compassion through incredible suffering at the hands of a crazy wacko, cruel abusive father. I would not let it destroy me..Look up above and see that you have survived and your ashes you endured are now traded for beauty. Our suffering in the end is our strengths.. I think your a soul who's deeply, deeply searching. We can ask questions all our life. Just know one thing, your beautiful in the eyes of the spirit and your pain is your crown to help heal others...
