Happy Easter!

Come on in my dear revered friends,
sit awhile; here in the den-
Now weíve all heard the stories; ancient and old-
how He died on the Cross-
and the stone was rolled-
We listened as children, to the preacherís word,
the stories of Easter; His miracles we heard-
Crosses three, on hills high above-
A Fatherís Son sacrificed; Out of purest love-

Now I ask you today; Is there but one?
One of us that would dedicate our only Son?
Oh not just to a Country; Not just to a Nation?
Not just to one Army; but to All of Creation?
Is there one of us that could stand, or sit idly by,
as our child was murdered right before our eye?
Could we forgive the crucifiers; and open our homes,
and promise them a kingdom to forever roam?
Is there one of us that knows love of purest form,
that would be willing to throw our child in the storm?
Could we shed but one tear; Or would there be more?
Could we watch our Sonís blood as it fell to the floor?

Now donít turn away; Donít hang your head low-
Itís obvious your answer would certainly be, No-
No guilt should you bear, nor should there be sorrow-
For the blood of one Son; will cover each tomorrow-

Smile and be joyful; When to Him we pray-
For the Spirit of Jesus still lives today-

Happy Easter To All!

I would certainly seek justice
As sure as can be
And be vengeful in thought
For what was taken from me

I would not have the strength
Or the love in my heart
To give up my child
To some mouthy upstart

I could not stand and watch Him
As He was hung there to die
I would kill all before Him
That is truly no lie

For no matter how much
I love from my heart
I could never pay homage
To those with guilt from the start

The story was written
Long before it was fact
And through all of the violence
God's love kept intact

This is a wonderful Easter poem, Lisa and you certainly sort the meat from the potatoes with your clear and stunning verses. None of us could love enough to bear witness to such acts against our child. Quite humbling, indeed. Happy Easter, Lisa.
Take care,
