Only in a Swing

In the cool of autumn it sits unused
moving ever so lightly in the breeze
on a day when everything seems right
we choose to sit in our front porch swing
We do it as a whim to enjoy before winter
catch the sunís rays as they touch the earth
in our swinging places for a colorful show
of clouds and streaks of orange and blue
It all comes together as we absorb changes
silently for fear it might hear us and fade
seeing an orange ball control the colors
in a slide show of the sky performing on cue
Minutes of swinging and gasping at times
slowly shaking heads at the wonder of it all
in our pointing to places not to be missed
before disappearing into fading tints.
Together we watch we sigh we bathe
ourselves in the wash of gorgeous hues
bursting with quiet shared joy and knowing
the other is feeling deep unspoken content

You have my heart on this one. In all my young years until now I've always had a swing. There's nothing like it. I'm just a traditional girl.
Love these words of yours William.
