secret crafts

a sweet fatigue dismounts us from a very full
very agile gallop.

the arms don’t tell of reins that have let themselves
go slack, the flanks don’t tell of the dialogues at the hip
of other cadences.

it still smells of sun rising on genista hispanica
and of all commotions in our hair.

it still tastes of the voices of pauses on the glades of lips
and, to the silver-green concavity reclined on the rye
still adheres the shape of bodies in silence ripened
ripened to be harvested in a sheaf to be untied at the end
of the unison.

I went with you to where I now sit in the shade
my lap smoothly bruised from the welcome.

the horses of our return drink meditations of afternoon
from the bed of fluid willows where we drank the night
to the brim of dawn, mint and herb of grace in the steaming
infusion of all spells.

arts, our crafts in the ancestry of those secrets of the earth
that need to be penetrable only in the essence of air.

the air in the gift of those who decipher as if they were
breathing their very echo in.

you came to where the air is now that gift replanted
in the anamnesis of space.

where now we absorb the adjacency of fingers solely in the purity of wind
and read each other in the harmony of this smile-kiss.

with which we agree on the clear enigma of resting the word
and its nude reflection on the path of hours with no destination known yet perceived.

for now. with all the light.

(“genista hispanica” is the botanical designation of a shrub known as “scottish broom” or “spanish greenweed” associated, in this Celtic part of the Iberian peninsula, with an ancestral rite of celebration of spring. On the eve of May 1st, Celtic-Iberians will hang wreaths of “genista” outside their doors: A mysterious mark through which those of their ancestors who shared the gift of magic (and the knowledge of the “secret crafts”) recognized one another – and invited one another to walk or ride to the secret glades where the glory of spring was then celebrated through the night till the first light of dawn; with all the magic and nature in unrestrained, full, agile harmony.)

Great.
You must hook up with Robin Ouzman Hislop and his partner Amparo, R is half Spanish, A is Spanish - they are both pagan. You will find Ronin here at AD or check out Poetry Life and Times

Magical write of the ancients, similar to the ancient druids an also a reflextion or another image perahaps of the wicka rites of spring. No matter I can imagine you naked dancing beneath a full moon in the open space of the forest and you are the epitome of Mother Nature's chosen daughter. You are the Luna dancer and I am not ashamed to say I am the voyeur awestruck at your image through the forest trees. Well done Alexandra.

I love the Scottish broom with its spectacular golden flowers, as it lights up the early spring landscape...
This is a golden feast of a write, that stirs the imagination and senses, to the hidden and esoteric values in our world, past and present, Alexandra !

Alexandra,

This poem embodies and releases all the sensual magic of springtime.
It invites the reader to a celebration of life to be attended by all Creation. I love the true history and the fact that the tradition still lives on today. The wreathe has been placed upon the open door of my heart.

Basking in the unrestrained, full, agile harmony of our Love,
Joseph
