A broken heart is a steady pain
Night and day, sun or rain
Flouting over and over again
No matter what you do

No pill or drink, no forty winks
Can stop the torture as you think
Of all the smiles one person brings
Then leaves without a clue

You cry, you fight with all your might
To dull the ache and set things right
The nuisance of the lonely nights
Drowned in the light of moon

You wake next day, you go your way
Your sure today will be the day
That agony will turn away
Forgetting  a love once true

I like this, and I really like the form. Has it a name? Rhyming all the lines in a stanza except the last one, which rhymes with the rest of the final lines of the poem. What's it's name, man?

This is a powerful and bittersweet pen, that tugs at the heart strings !
Reminded me of the old Everly Brother's song " When will I be Loved "..
The one true love, is the very special love you share with Almighty God..
You are in my thoughts and prayers dear one..:)

Th pain never changes when questions go unconditioned. Sometimes our answer is the freedom let within the heart. Your poem touches me where those same scars dwell.
