"Here, have half."
I remember growing up –
My best friend and I would get together;
One of us would have some candy
And say to the other: “Here, have half.”
It was two-for-a-penny candy
And it went pretty quick,
But it tasted good and sharing made it better.
Now, when a friend and I get together,
If one of us has a hurting heart
Because Life flew overhead
And pooped on either of our heads;
Or if a person’s soul is singing a song
About a bouquet of blessings received,
One of us will say to the other “Here, have half.”
It tastes good, and sharing makes everything better.

|Ah, if only that were true, Robert. It is true enough that having a friend who can help you over the rough spots is a help, however, it is very difficult going it alone. Very nice poetry.|
