Fear of Stairs by Mariel O' Keeffe Thursday, May 04, 2006 Not rated by the Author. Share Print Save Become a Fan When I was little, I had a problem with balance, I was always bumping into things and falling down the stairs. Now I have a more developed fear of stairs, because I think I'll fall to my death...strange...
Dizzy and nauseous I'm feeling cautious Grip so tight I might lose blood Visions keep me dazed As I take the first step Sweat runs Temples pound An overwhelming feeling Of vertigo engulfs me I close my eyes And take the first step I slip and slide gracefully into a coma Only returning when I have to take those steps again

Mariel, I'd take a fear of stairs, especially if they lead toward a basement...sorely lacking here in Tornado Alley! My fear is storms. HUGE fear. I understand, believe me, that fear can overwhelm your life. An excellently penned, taut write--well done! (((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
