True Love Revealed
By Bill Cottringer
Ah, what a fool I’ve been,
Searching with all my might
For the certainty of true love,
Looking intently, but not seeing;
Then gradually over a lifetime
Of empty and painful grasping,
And in a single blissful moment,
I woke up to real true love—
To discover it is much greater
Than my very special soul mate
Who consumes every bit of me—
My mind, heart, soul and body;
More than just my other half,
The one person who can help me
Cleverly unlock all the mysteries,
And wonders of life, love, and living;
Encouraging our unique selves,
And sharing our special gifts,
To magically join our destiny.
You see, true love is true love—
Loving truth truly and truthfully,
Which only comes from God;
Only for us to give each other,
Both selflessly and selfishly;
With our mind’s charity,
heart’s generosity and soul’s curiosity,
Helping us passionately paint
Our masterpieces on life’s canvas;
To both savor and show others,
Without judgment, nor expectations;
With true love and loving truth.
True love is finally found;
Not right here before us,
But there where we are going—
In the true time of eternity;
And at that special moment
There truly becomes here
And true love is true .
