Dusty petals on brown eyed Suzy

Dulls its color just a tad

Yet donít diminish her beauty

In the eyes of this old lad

She stands tall and strong

By the roadside of life

Doesnít pick, just admires

Like a lover not a wife

Knows he canít possess her

Her beauty is for all

He lingers by the roadside

Feeling lost and small

Visits her as often

Smiles at her charms sedate

Prays no other will pick her

Afraid each time heís late

Through heat and sun traffic

Shared memories held a sigh

Too soon the breath of winter

Time has come to say goodbye

In mind and heart and spirit

That once was, will always be

Love etched forever in time

Brown Eyed Suzieís memory!

These look like the wild sunflowers here in Kansas. They are very plentiful most of the summer. Just one of natures colors again. Good poem. Karen

Nature has such a gentle way of reminding us about love and admiration. Your verse reminded me that while some things appear for a only a brief time then fade away - there is always a season for their return.

The most beautiful things are what God has put in Mother Nature. Thanx for the smile Felix, I think I really needed it this week especially. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly.
